New Poem: edge (a sonnet triptych)

The Journal of Compressed Creative Arts recently picked up a triptych of word-sonnets I wrote, and it’s now live: http://matterpress.com/journal/2014/12/29/edge-a-sonnet-triptych/

Hope you enjoy!

For those who aren’t familiar with the word-sonnet: it follows the form of the traditional sonnet in that it has 14 lines and may also follow the traditional rhetorical structure (problem / issue –> elaboration / different perspective –> attempt at solution), but each line only contains one word.

This may sound pretty modern, but the first known word sonnet was actually written almost a hundred years ago, in 1921, by Frank Sidgwick  (source: Idranil Sarkar,  http://www.scribd.com/doc/166503562/Word-Sonnets).
